Enoch: A Bigfoot Story (an excerpt) This is a must have book people!
There are hundreds of bigfoot books out there about this mysterious forest monster that has eluded researchers for so long. Some try to be scientific as best as they can, like Dr. Jeff Meldrum's Sasquatch:Legend Meets Science, and others that are total comedy where bigfoot is your spiritual guide and can talk to you through "mindspeak". "Enoch: A Bigfoot Story" is the most well written account between a researcher and an alleged bigfoot eyewitness named Mike. It's 272 pages of non-stop reading. You won't be able to put it down. An excerpt after the jump.
The following is an excerpt from "Enoch: A Bigfoot Story" by Autumn Williams. You can purchase it here. You won't regret it.
Proof & Pictures
Mike first emailed me in September of 2009, after I'd published a video blog on YouTube about long-term witnesses and the need for researchers to treat habituations with care and respect. Our correspondence began tentatively.
I'm the single Mom of a toddler trying to support my daughter, care for her full time and run Oregonbigfoot.com in my "free" time. Mike's email came in amongst hundreds of others that week that I barely had time to look at. The tone of his initial email was cautious, reserved - but as I skimmed it, it struck a chord in me. He said he had been interacting with a creature for several years and wanted to tell someone about it, but was concerned about harm coming to it.
I've received many similar emails over the years from individuals claiming to have ongoing interactions. I understand the desire to contact someone to validate their experience and the conflicting reticence to do so for fear of what might descend upon them, and the Bigfoot, if they contact the wrong person. I also remembered all the times I'd been contacted by folks who claimed ongoing encounters but whose stories, upon further investigation, appeared to be less-than-compelling. But, as always, I initially gave Mike the benefit of the doubt. I replied carefully in an attempt to let him know that I was aware of the delicacy of the situation. If this man was having ongoing encounters, I knew that he couldn't have chosen a more appropriate researcher with whom to share his experiences. I also knew that it would take a great deal of time and patience on my part to ensure him of that, as well as a great deal of time and patience on his part to assure me that he wasn't pulling my leg.
He replied a short time later with a few more details. I was intrigued.
First: you can't tell anyone about this. Anything I show you or tell you must stay between us. I have had many run-ins with these Bigfoot researchers] online and I don't want anyone to know where this place is. I've seen what they do and they will chase them away and ruin it. I've built a trust with this one and I would like to show someone, but what worries me is what will happen i f I bring a stranger around. Will he run away and not come back? Will it make him not trust me? What do you think lie would do? And how would you protect them from people once the word gets out? You know what will happen.
He's not tame but he'll come up to me because I bring him food. He loves fresh fruit like peaches and pears, and he can eat a lot.
I have been close enough to touch him. The smell is really bad but you get used to it after a while. I have to be careful when I'm around him and not turn my back on him. He lets me know that he can kill me whenever he wants. Sometimes it gets scary and I have to back away. I always carry a gun, just in case.
Sometimes when I bring hint food, he will chase site away. I back away and watch front a distance.
I will tell you this they seem to be driven by hunger. They are always looking for food and that, I think, is the key. Wood-knocking and making noise only lets them know that humans are in the area and they run away. And that's why I think they are hard to find - they hear people long before they see them.
I'm no expert but I have seen what they do when they hear a human. They hide, they run, they don't want to be seen.
If you can let me know what you'll do if I show you this place and them, it would be a big help to me. Whatever it is will have to be low key - do you know what I mean? I have kept this secret for ten years and I don't mind going for another ten if I have to. The Big Guy comes first and what's best for him is what I will do... as soon as I know what is.
Thanks,
Mike
