“Each episode is going to be an adventure, a potential haunting or something,” Pegg told Variety. “It’ll start as a very parochial idea, a very small business venture for these people, but it will expand as the series goes on to be something far more global. It’s a language everyone understands, the mystery of the unknown. Shaun of the Dead was a very parochial story set in North London and somehow it managed to get this global reach because everyone understands the language of zombie movies.”
Truth Seekers will likely be the second project from Stolen Picture, a new production company co-founded by Frost and Pegg. The first is a movie called Slaughterhouse Rulez, directed by Crispian Mills, which is about a “subterranean demon” being unleashed at an upscale UK public school. That one is already in production.
While Rulez is being funded and distributed by Sony, Truth Seekers is currently “out to market,” according to the report. But with Pegg and Frost behind the scenes, and genre TV as popular as ever, it seems like it’s something we’ll surely see soon.
