Steven Streufert of Bigfoot Books in Willow Creek was recently outed by our Crypto Blast show "Face Off" for conspiring against Bob Gimlin with Bigfoot hoaxer Tom Biscardi. He recently posted his side of the story in a Bigfoot Facebook group...
Biscardi came to my shop in Willow Creek and bought some books. Then he invited me to dinner. I figured, why not? It was a chance to figure the guy out. While there, he asked if I could pass on an offer to Gimlin of $100K to meet publicly with Bob Heironimus and Greg Long. I suggested that of they were going to do that, Gimlin should have Meldrum or Munns on his side. The offer expanded to pay them as well. I asked Cliff Barackman and others who know Gimlin better than I do what they thought, and they said just send the offer and let Bob decide. So I contacted Russell Acord by PM and sent the proposition. My position in this was completely neutral, though I'd have loved to see Gimlin kick Heironimus' ass in a debate. Bob said no, so that was that. Biscardi wanted to come to Willow Creek anyway, and I suggested that such was a bad idea. End of story, save that now Russell and Rictor are divulging the contents of private messages publicly in videos. Lame.When it comes to Bigfoot, it's all about money apparently.
Last I looked it was Rictoid who had joined the Biscardi "Family," and was best buds with Dyer as they laughed about Gimlin supposedly being a hoaxer.

ReplyDeleteNope, I wasn't working with our conspiring with Biscardi. He came by my shop and told me of his plans and proposition, and asked me to pass them on to Gimlin. That's what I did. If Biscardi was planning to come to Willow Creek, you'd think that Bob would want a heads-up. That's what he got, and an offer to have a public conversation with Bob Heironimus with a generous financial benefit. These were Tom Biscardi's plans, not mine; and I discouraged him from coming here without a prior agreement with Gimlin. If you want actual facts, that's what they are. None of this was secret or conspiratorial. I posted about it on the day it happened, and sent the idea right to Gimlin's "manager." So what??

Hey Russell,
Since you've been hanging out with Bob a lot lately, and know his schedule and all, I'd like to mention this to you.
It's not the easiest idea to deal with, but apparently it is going to happen one way or another in October.
Tom Biscardi has a bee in his bonnet, and he is planning to make a media event of this whether or not it works out as he wishes.
As you may know, he came to my shop in Willow Creek a while back and eventually proposed this idea.
Tom Biscardi proposed this, and then called the author of MAKING OF BIGFOOT, Greg Long and set me up to talk with him over the speakerphone. They have a proposition. They want to do some kind of a public debate and discussion where Bob Gimlin meets Bob Heironimus, and they "talk things over." Biscardi proposed that he and Greg Long would be on a panel in this discussion. The idea he suggested sounded interesting enough, but totally lopsided, like a gang-up set-up. I told him that if he wanted such a thing to happen it would be better to include someone like Meldrum and Munns to be part of presenting the "pro-PGF" perspective in the thing. Here is the kicker... they are offering $100K to Bob G. for doing this, if he'd promise to stick it out for a stipulated amount of time. I'd suspect that they would want to have a polygraph involved, but I don't know if that would be required. DO YOU THINK BOB WOULD DO THIS? I know the idea is annoying, but maybe Bob could use the cash, and a chance to defend himself against what these guys might say?
Here's the kicker. Biscardi says that he and his crew with Long will be coming to the events in Willow Creek in October, while Bob is supposed to be here, and that they will either do a public, arranged discussion (if Bob agrees) or they will try to get the media's attention and make a scene of it. I think this is a bit troublesome, as they will likely try to say that Bob "chickened out" and wouldn't meet them, and therefore must be lying.
You know how it goes.
I know I'd find the discussion very interesting, but I suspect that Bob would be weary of such questioning. Maybe Bob could use the cash? They are also prepared to offer Meldrum some $10K and Munns $5K to do it, they told me.

BTW, Biscardi insisted he had the cash on reserve, and that he would deposit it into some kind of trust or escrow account upon an agreement being made.
I tried to inquire if he was really serious about coming here anyway, and he insists that yes, he is going to do it.

I would have just called Bob, but I didn't know when might be a good time, and also I didn't want to upset him with this idea at a bad time, or present it in a way that could cause him any grief.
Do know, I consider myself a friend of Bob, and an agnostic on the PGF. I certainly am not "siding" with Biscardi on this matter. For whatever reason, he asked me to try to bridge the gap, as he knows I know a lot of Bigfooting people, and Bob wouldn't answer the door the time that Biscardi came to his house in Yakima.
I dunno. For a hundred grand it might be worth it. I know Bob would look good and impress people in whatever he does, and there's little way that they are going to get him to change any of his story of the events of 1967 besides.

No one was exploited. Biscardi gave up his plan, saying, "There's no money in it, no point in coming." And... whatever. They even gave me a free signed Bob Gimlin DVD at the Bob Gimlin sales table. It was pretty good, too.
