In the desolate Siberian Ural mountains, a haunted unsolved mystery has lasted for over 55 years. In January 1959, a group of college friends set off on 14 day a mountain expedition. But the hikers never returned. After they were reported missing, a massive search and rescue mission was launched. For weeks the search party searched until they found the campsite and what they found was horrifying. More after the jump.
The hikers tent was found first. Abandoned. Almost a mile away at the edge of the forest they found the first bodies. The tree had broken branches as high as 15 feet. The hikers were trying to escape something. More bodies were found along an exposed mountain slope. Found face down face down. It is suggested they were running for their lives. But where were the remaining bodies?
Please note, the bodies had crushed ribs, a fractured skull, internal injuries, and one unfortunate hiker had missing eyes. The bodies seemed to be deliberately mutilated.
