Is sexism alive and well in Bigfooting? An Editorial

Bigfoot fan boy and enthusiast Daniel Perez has been writing The Bigfoot Times newsletter for quite a few years and has never picked a woman as Bigfooter of the year.

Below is a list of all the previous winners...one was picked who some allege is a hoaxer, Stacy brown Jr.

This year he chose Washington Olympic Project researcher, Derek Randles. A man who does not want the accolades and is wanting to bow out of the spotlight and let his research partner take over, Shane Corson.

Is the Bigfoot world truly sexist? There are multiple female researchers out there who are worthy of the title Bigfooter of the Year. Perhaps you have heard of Kathy Strain, Montra Freitas, Condy Dosen, or Diane Stalking Neiss? Then there's the new, up and coming Shelly Covington-Montana. I mean, in the years 2001, 2002 and 2014 Daniel Perez chose nada, zilch, squat, no one at all as Bigfooter of the year. Is that just plain laziness? Does it even matter who he thinks deserves the praise?

As you look over that list, you will notice that M.K. Davis was chosen as Bigfooter of the Year in 2007...the man who alleges Roger Patterson and Bob Gimlin were some part of a Sasquatch massacre in Bluff Creek in 1967. Who claimed Patti's family was brutally murdered by loggers.

You will also notice Bigfoot author Chris Murphy made the title twice in two years, back to back.

If anything, this Bigfoot Times has shown itself to be nothing but a boys club joke. And the joke is on itself. This year everyone was rooting for Shelly Convington-Montana to receive the so-called honor. It didn't happen. Just when we were holding out for hope that the glass ceiling was going to break in the Bigfoot world, it didn't.
