Preston Castle was a reform school for delinquent youths called the The Preston School of Industry. It was a reform school for delinquent youths from 1894 until 1960. Preston School of Industry was home at one time to singer Merle Haggard, actors Rory Calhoun, Lee J. Cobb and Eddie Anderson (Rochester on “The Jack Benny Show”), and tennis star Pancho Gonzales. Merle Haggard even escaped from the prison twice.
