Whats Important in Regards to Bigfoot - From The Booch
Our guest editorial today is from a 46-year-old writer from the Southern Coast of Oregon. "The Booch" has had two experiences with the creature known as Bigfoot that changed the way he views the world. And he has opinion about it and the people that are obsessed online with this creature.
Whats Important in Regards to Bigfoot
By The Booch
"So I’ve been laying low recently, for the most part. I haven’t really participated in any sort of Bigfoot discussions, save for an occasional comment here and there.
When it comes to Bigfoot, I could not care less about convincing anyone that the creatures exist. I don’t even make any effort to go after those who are obviously gaming the community for attention and fame.
In the long run it doesn’t really matter.
Did it really matter that Rick Dyer hoaxed? Did it really matter if he took money from gullible people?
Does it really matter that Matthew Johnson has essentially started his own branch of The Church of Bigfoot? Does it really matter that he claims portals appear at his behest, even though he cannot demonstrate cloaking Bigfoot, or portals?
Does it really matter that Daisy really wasn’t in the box?
Does it really matter that Sasquatch Ontario posted goldfish eyes and claimed that they were Bigfoot selfies?
Does it really matter that Michael Merchant went woo so fast, rationality made an audible pop?
Does it matter who sexually services who at what convention?
No. Not a damned bit. Bigfoot remains real to me, regardless.
But… but… but what about what the rest of the world thinks about the Bigfoot Community?
Who cares? I go out in the woods anyway.
That’s all that is important, to me, and to those like me, who have seen the creatures, and have been fundamentally changed by the experience.
No, there’s no amount of blogging, bitching, moaning, hoaxing, praying, or screwing that is going to get us proof positive of Bigfoot. The only thing we can do is the same thing that got us our first sightings. Boots on the ground in the woods. That’s it.
I didn’t give up on Bigfoot. I am happier now that I’ve begun to focus more on finding the creatures, and less on what others are doing.
The more people we have seeing imaginary portaling Bigfoot, the less out in the woods scaring the real ones away, anyway.
Yes, I feel much better now that I realize what is important and what is garbage.
Squatch on, people.
