Sasquatch comes in peace!
Cops in South Carolina have issued a cheeky warning to residents following reports of a recent Bigfoot sighting.
“If you see Bigfoot, please do not shoot at him/her,” the Greenville Police Department wrote on Facebook.
“You’ll most likely be wounding a fun-loving and well-intentioned person, sweating in a gorilla costume,” they said.
The official public safety warning came Tuesday after a local group in North Carolina, dubbed Bigfoot 911, claimed to have spotted the fabled creature in the mountains of McDowell County, NC.
The sighting happened on Friday night at around 11 p.m. and was reported on Saturday.
John Bruner, leader of Bigfoot 911, wrote on the group’s Facebook page that a team of seven people had been walking in a wooded area — scattering glow sticks — when the big guy began throwing rocks at them.
“I was able to see details of the creature…like the face, and the hair was matted and stringy,” Bruner said, according to the Charlotte Observer.
“The eyes were farther apart than human eyes,” he added.
In their Facebook warning, the Greenville Police Department also posted a link to an Observer story from 2015 about a Bigfoot “sighting” in a different part of western North Carolina.
The article features camera footage showing an alleged Sasquatch running through a field in broad daylight.
“After watching this video…I think we can say with some confidence that proof of Bigfoot still eludes us,” the cops said.

I don't have a problem with that.
