Editorial - Killing Bigfoot

A new series will premier on Destination America on February 4th called Killing Bigfoot. Gulf Coast Bigfoot Research Organization (GCBRO) is the group who will be going out to try to locate and kill Bigfoot. This is my editorial on the subject of Killing Bigfoot...

Here’s another program to suck people in who think that someone is going to actually go out and find Bigfoot and kill it. They aren’t going to find anything in any episode. The premise of this program is to get you to watch so they can make money. It goes back to what I’ve said before in many of my editorials, follow the money.

This program is about GCBRO and their mission to help people terrorized by Bigfoot. In order to make the terror go away they expect to shoot one and solve the problem. I don’t believe in the premise of this program about killing a Bigfoot. You don’t have to kill in order to prove something exists. You have to find the undeniable evidence.

If there ever was something called Bigfoot, Sasquatch, Yeti or whatever name you choose to call it, I don’t think it exists anymore. Finding evidence is the hard part. The stories persist because it gets people’s attention.

I applaud people who go out and try to track down Bigfoot and find any evidence that can be tested. It’s not easy going out there and trying to track down something you’re not even sure exists. Trail cameras are a good way of trying to find out in a non-invasive way. They don’t hurt any of the animals and it keeps people safe from any harm. But a program where trail cameras are used to try and find evidence doesn’t make a network any money.

Since there are six episodes scheduled, I’ll be the spoiler. They find nothing and they don’t kill a Bigfoot. This program is trying to get at your emotions of whether Bigfoot should be killed or not. They are purposely being controversial for the attention and the ad money.
