Bigfoot takes up new residence in Portland

The Cryptozoology Museum is Maine is starting to take shape in it's new location and today, bigfoot was delivered.

From Channel 6 NBC news in Portland Maine: The new home of the International Cryptozoology Museum has its first tenant.

A wooden sculpture of Bigfoot took up residence on Saturday inside the otherwise vacant exhibition hall at Thompson's Point in Portland.

At more than eight ft. tall and 800 lbs., it took a team of men to lift the sculpture into place. But that perch is only temporary. Bigfoot will eventually be bolted onto a podium outside of an entrance to greet visitors.

Bigfoot offers just a hint of what visitor will find inside as they wander past exhibits about rare, weird and impossible animals.

The museum is currently based on Avon Street. By moving to Thompson's Point, it gains more room for displays and parking. The new location is set to open on July first.
